Made with curiosity
Useful tools, things for my kids, and a few projects that started in the garage.
A little background
I’m a founder and builder and a father based in Madison, Wisconsin. I’ve spent much of my working life building companies. This is a home for a few of the things I’m making and learning along the way.
I co-founded PerBlue with college friends and roommates in 2009. What started with making games and bootstrapping grew into years of building products and teams. Later, I worked on Playback Rewards and Run Across America. Across those chapters, the part I’ve kept coming back to is making something useful and seeing what people do with it.
I’m still building. These days, that curiosity shows up in smaller projects: a bank for kids, games that make learning feel like play, and tools that make everyday work a little easier. You can see what I’m working on through my projects page.
I love my hobbies and having reasons to keep learning outside a screen. I’m a private pilot, flying both fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft. Music is another part of my life, especially playing percussion.
I enjoy biking, water skiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and snowbiking. In winter, that sometimes means camping in TinyRig; at other times, it means getting away in our RV with my family. Back in the garage, there’s usually a motor, a piece of electronics, or a sensor to tinker with.
This site brings a few of those threads together. Over time, I’ll add more projects and writing as there’s something worth sharing.
